First Semester Reflection

I learned a lot during this first semester. Getting good grades this half of the school year was special to me. I loved my cooking class joining the panther cafe when I want to do it. Taking photos in photo class and enjoy how great it was to take great photos. Making things in 3D art with my brother so far. But the best thing was PLA. I loved learning in these classes. I liked how the classes are smaller and you can get more help than other class outside of PLA.  I grew in learning different things seeing new people and having fun.  PLA was great and I hope it would be great next year when we come back.

Space

Space is something I want to study about. I was always interested in space since middle school. I always read books on space if there was. I was learning about different planets out there and if there were any more. And now I will talk about what I learned so far. There are 7 Galaxys and we live in the Milky Way Galaxys. Solar System is a part of space that planets orbit around the Sun. The Sun is a star that is in the middle of the Solar System. Mercury the first planet close to the Sun. Mercury has no moons and it takes mercury less time to orbit around the Sun. Venus the second planet close to the Sun. People say Venus is like the sister to Earth. Venus also has no moons like Mercury. Venus takes more time to orbit around the Sun than Mercury and less time than Earth.  Earth the third planet close to the sun. Also where we all live on. Earth is like a brother to Venus. Earth has one moon. Earth is perfect place to live because Earth has lots of life, sun.

This family was anxious about the husband and wandered when he was coming home. Yuki’s mom offer us tea and cake when we were there. The policemen left the house and then I heard the phone ring and answer it. I was told to return and I told them I was leaving. But before I left the house I told them I hope everything will be all right.

Research of Discrimination

Discrimination is everywhere in the world. People discriminate against people with height, weight, color, bald, gender, etc. I am going to research on LGBT discrimination that people are always talking about. Lesbian is an individual who is a women that is sexually and romantically attracted to another women. Less than 4 percent of americans are lesbian. 60% of americans support people who are lesbians and 40% of americans discriminate against lesbian marriage. In 2008, California had 18,000 thousand people with the same sex marriage. Gay is an individual who is a man that is sexually and romantically attracted to another man. Less than 4 percent of americans are gay. 60% of americans support people who are gay and 40% of americans discriminate against gay marriage. In 2008, California had 18,000 thousand people with the same sex marriage. Bisexual is an individual who is sexually and romantically attracted to both men and women. Less than 3 percent of americans are bisexual. There are more than 50 percent of people who support it and less than 50 percent of people don’t support them. Transgender is an individual who identifies as the opposite sex from the sexual genitalia that he/she was born with. There are less than 3 percent of americans that are transgender. There are more than 50 percent of people who support it and less than 50 percent of people don’t support them. There is a program called the Welcoming Project that supports them. According to their website: “All are welcome”(The Welcoming Project).  People believe that people this could be a problem because they will eventually get married and then people we complain about it. The supreme Court rules that states should allow same sex marriage. “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family”(Kennedy). “In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than they once were”(Kennedy).

Discussion Post

Many people assume that journalism is a boring and dangerous career. Journalism might be dangerous but it is not boring. In her article, Juliana Ruhfus maintains “I came to London to study and it was there that I fell into music journalism”. She talked about how much work you have to put in it. Also that it was a dangerous job because when you’re a journalist you have to stay alive. Ruhfus had a job that she did not like but it helped her with editorial and production process. Some people have started to try journalism and love it. So if you think that journalism is boring than try it first before you give your opinion. Ruhfus found her dream job and hopefully you guys find your dream job.

Small Business Blog Post

Brainstorm

Our small business was on homeless people in San Diego/Vista. It was hard to choose topics for this project since we brainstormed 20 topics and then minus the others little by little. Until finally we choose homeless people but we were not the only ones that choose homeless people in the same class.

Small Business Plan

Then we did a plan that we help us understand what we are going throughout the whole project. We continued in History with the same thing that we did in English. We added a poster and answer the questions.

Small Business Logo

During math class I started a logo in class for my small business. The logo has a shadow of a house showing how people are in a house and people who want to live in their own home.

My partner Nathan did this advertisement for our business plan. He did a video about how to help change this problem with so many homeless people in San Diego.

Elevator Pitch

Do you see people on the street and think to yourself and say they might be homeless. Well there are a large amount of homeless people in San Diego California almost 70% are homeless. My solution to this problem is make more shelter and food but to do this we need a fundraiser for money for the homeless. People who can help us is you guys in the world we need everyone to help for this. There are companies that do the same thing and they want to do better. There are more people that help me with this plan.

Wellness Blog #2

Environmental wellness is leading a lifestyle that is respectful of and in harmony with your environment. “Be aware of the interactions between the environment and the community”.  For example hurricane Matthews destroyed some parts of southern Florida, Dominican Republic, and Haiti and made gigantic mess of destroyed homes and the town of each city is rebuilding and cleaning up trash to fix the environment.

I use environmental wellness everyday when I recycle the extra bottles we collect from the family. My Dad and I consume more water than my mom does. My siblings consume less water than me and my dad. So most of the bottles are from my parents and me.

When I go outside and walk my dog I see lots of trash from other people who don’t pick up after themselves. So every time I get a chance to walk my dog or walk outside I pick up the trash and throw it away or recycle it. After doing this for a month or two my environment has change from covered with trash to no trash around.

During school when I was in elementary school I volunteered to pick up trash and recycle plastic, cans etc. That is when I started to pick up other people’s trash. During middle school for three years I pick up trash during lunch from other students. They gave me something in return which was food. I picked up loads of trash since second grade. And now in the last year of high school I started to pick up trash at home.

Just to let you know I think it is a good idea if you guys are reading this to tell people that you know to pick up trash after themselves or other people’s trash. But so far this wellness fits me because I had done things that go with Environmental wellness.

Wellness Blog #1

Emotional Wellness is described as having a positive attitude, high self-esteem, a strong sense of self, and the ability to recognize and share a wide range of feelings with others in a constructive way.

People have feelings to everything that is important or not important. People might be sad because they lost a pet or family member for example the Miami Marlins lost Jose Fernandez in a boating accident on Sunday morning in which their game was cancelled after hearing what happened. People might be angry because someone or something is making them mad. This all falls under Emotional Wellness which has to do with your emotions. This wellness goes with me because I show lots of emotions at school and at home.

When my siblings make me upset I show that I am mad. When my friends talks about pointless things I get mad. When my pet died I got sad and showed it in a different area of the house. When graduated middle school or anything I get happy.

The time I was happy is when my sister graduated from elementary school last year and when my brother graduated middle school 2 years ago. The time I was sad is when my puppy named Max died the day after we got him from our neighbors. I was sad for 2 months and after almost 3 months we got another dog named Rex. And the time I was mad is when my friend talks about something that has nothing to do on what I am talking about which makes me mad.

I showed my emotions more often seen preschool and still to this day I show my emotions. This is not all that my emotions show about me. Sometimes I get stressed when it comes to school because I been trying to get my grades up so I can graduate from high school this year.  I been stressed for a long time since middle school. I lost some hours of sleep during my high school year which I felted tired during classes and sometimes fall asleep during class.
