Wellness Blog #2

Environmental wellness is leading a lifestyle that is respectful of and in harmony with your environment. “Be aware of the interactions between the environment and the community”.  For example hurricane Matthews destroyed some parts of southern Florida, Dominican Republic, and Haiti and made gigantic mess of destroyed homes and the town of each city is rebuilding and cleaning up trash to fix the environment.

I use environmental wellness everyday when I recycle the extra bottles we collect from the family. My Dad and I consume more water than my mom does. My siblings consume less water than me and my dad. So most of the bottles are from my parents and me.

When I go outside and walk my dog I see lots of trash from other people who don’t pick up after themselves. So every time I get a chance to walk my dog or walk outside I pick up the trash and throw it away or recycle it. After doing this for a month or two my environment has change from covered with trash to no trash around.

During school when I was in elementary school I volunteered to pick up trash and recycle plastic, cans etc. That is when I started to pick up other people’s trash. During middle school for three years I pick up trash during lunch from other students. They gave me something in return which was food. I picked up loads of trash since second grade. And now in the last year of high school I started to pick up trash at home.

Just to let you know I think it is a good idea if you guys are reading this to tell people that you know to pick up trash after themselves or other people’s trash. But so far this wellness fits me because I had done things that go with Environmental wellness.

Emotional Wellness is described as having a positive attitude, high self-esteem, a strong sense of self, and the ability to recognize and share a wide range of feelings with others in a constructive way.

People have feelings to everything that is important or not important. People might be sad because they lost a pet or family member for example the Miami Marlins lost Jose Fernandez in a boating accident on Sunday morning in which their game was cancelled after hearing what happened. People might be angry because someone or something is making them mad. This all falls under Emotional Wellness which has to do with your emotions. This wellness goes with me because I show lots of emotions at school and at home.

When my siblings make me upset I show that I am mad. When my friends talks about pointless things I get mad. When my pet died I got sad and showed it in a different area of the house. When graduated middle school or anything I get happy.

The time I was happy is when my sister graduated from elementary school last year and when my brother graduated middle school 2 years ago. The time I was sad is when my puppy named Max died the day after we got him from our neighbors. I was sad for 2 months and after almost 3 months we got another dog named Rex. And the time I was mad is when my friend talks about something that has nothing to do on what I am talking about which makes me mad.

I showed my emotions more often seen preschool and still to this day I show my emotions. This is not all that my emotions show about me. Sometimes I get stressed when it comes to school because I been trying to get my grades up so I can graduate from high school this year.  I been stressed for a long time since middle school. I lost some hours of sleep during my high school year which I felted tired during classes and sometimes fall asleep during class.
